INFORMATION NOTICE ON THE COMPULSORY COMMON FOREIGN LANGUAGE (ENGLISH) EXEMPTION EXAM
The Compulsory Common Foreign Language (English) Exemption Exam will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025, at 15:00, in face-to-face sessions at the Faculties or Schools where the students are registered.
Students who have newly enrolled at our University and will take the Foreign Language I and Foreign Language II courses for the first time are eligible to sit for the exam. This right can be exercised only once.
Students who have newly enrolled in the Department of English Language Teaching at Necatibey Faculty of Education are not eligible to take the exam.
Students who have transferred (horizontally or vertically) and those currently studying in the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th years are not eligible to sit for the exam.
Students of the Faculty of Theology who have successfully completed the Arabic preparatory class or who are exempt from the preparatory class are eligible to sit for the exam.
Students taking the exam are required to carry one of their official identity documents (identity card, driver’s license, or passport).
The exam will consist of 40 multiple-choice questions and will last 50 minutes.
The results of the Exemption Exam will be sent to the Deans’ Offices of the Faculties or the Directorates of the Schools where the students are registered. Students will be able to learn their results from their own faculty/school student affairs offices.
In accordance with Article 17/1 of Balıkesir University’s Associate and Undergraduate Education and Training Regulation, in order to be exempted from the courses coded YDI 1101 and YDI 1201, students must obtain a minimum score of 60 (CC) or above.
Students who score 60 or above in the exam will be exempted from the relevant course.
Every student who sits for the exam is deemed to have accepted the rules and procedures of the exam.
